Quantitative Assessment of Natural Ventilation in an Elementary School Classroom in the Context of COVID-19 and Its Impact in Airborne Transmission

The importance of Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) has been highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly due to possibility long-distance airborne transmission. Consequently, assessment ventilation rates and estimation infection risk become a matter utmost importance. In this paper, naturally ventilated elementary school classroom is studied, where carbon dioxide (CO2) concentrations were measured during five months. Ventilation are calculated via fully-mixed box model for SARS-CoV-2 assessed. Risk results found steadily decline from winter spring.
